SLED Safeguard SC: Classroom Instructor Training (40 Hours)

This 40-hour course prepares certified security officers to become training instructors qualified to teach other security personnel. To attend, you must be a currently registered SLED Security Officer employed by a licensed security company. Enrollment is subject to SLED approval.

To successfully complete the course, participants must:
  • Deliver a 20-minute presentation on a security-related topic of their choice.
  • Earn a minimum score of 80% on both the written examination and oral presentation.
Required Materials
Participants must bring:
  • Notebook and black pen(s)
  • Laptop and charger (or another device capable of running PowerPoint and Word)
  • Valid SLED Registered Security Officer ID card
  • Driver's license or state-issued photo ID
Students who do not bring the required identification or materials may not be permitted to participate.

Registration
Registration is required and must be completed online or by calling 843-574-6152. Walk-in registrations are not permitted.
To request a refund or a one-time reschedule, contact Continuing Education at ce.reg@tridenttech.edu or 843-574-6152. Requests must be received before 5:00 p.m. on the Wednesday prior to the class start date. No registrations, refunds, or transfers will be processed after that deadline. No exceptions.
