The Pharmacy Technician Program trains students in technical tasks related to medication preparation and dispensing under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
The 9-month hybrid program, consisting of 8 total courses, combines online coursework, weekly on-campus lab sessions, and an off-campus clinical rotation.
Students are required to attend a mandatory orientation on 8/13/26 (failure to attend may result in dismissal from the program). This program prepares students for the national pharmacy technician certification exams (CPhT) and eligibility to apply for State Certification with the SC Board of Pharmacy.

The clinical rotation takes place from May to August, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This program prepares students for the national pharmacy technician certification exam (CPhT) and eligibility to apply for State Certification with the SC Board of Pharmacy.
Registration Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalency
- Proof of major medical insurance.
- Proof of vaccinations and/or titers: 2-step PPD, MMR, Tetanus (Tdap), Hepatitis B (with titer), Varicella (or titer), Meningococcal, and Flu vaccine. . Immunization FAQ’s
- Proof of math and English proficiency (math proficiency via a passing score on a pharmacy-specific math placement test or Accuplacer)
- Criminal background check and drug screen will be conducted during the program (results may affect program completion or certification eligibility) If in question, please consult with the program manager at crystal.watts@tridenttech.edu.

- Copy of Physical examination recorded on Student Health Record form.
- Students are required to attend a Pharm Tech 'Info Session' on campus in order to be eligible. Students must attend one of the following scheduled times (Attendance will be recorded):

o Monday, June 15th 10AM Bldg 970/Rm 217
o Wednesday, July 15th 2PM Bldg 970/Rm 217
Application Process:

2. Upon receipt of your application, you will receive an email from ce.scholarship@tridenttech.edu (please check spam folders) asking you to upload a copy of your valid driver’s license and SSN to a secure link. If you do not receive this email within 5 business days, submit a copy of your valid driver's license to add to your scholarship application and via the Secure Document Upload portal. Secure Document Upload Secure Document Upload Applications cannot be processed without these documents.
3. After submitting your application, email all required documents together in one file, and in PDF format to: crystal.watts@tridenttech.edu. This includes:
- High school diploma or GED
- Major medical health insurance ID card
- Immunization records (as listed in “Registration Requirements” above)
4. After ALL documents listed in steps 1, 2, and 3 are submitted, applications will be reviewed. Upon review, instructions to complete math and English proficiency requirements will be provided via email. Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance. Applications will be accepted on a “first qualified, first accepted” basis once all requirements have been met.

Student Costs:
· Laptop with internet access, webcam, and microphone.
· Uniform: grey scrub top and bottom, clean athletic shoes for lab and clinical work.
