Phlebotomy Training Program

ID : 17906
« back to classes page
As a phlebotomist, you provide specialized clinical support and collect blood from patients for laboratory testing. Lab test results provide valuable information allowing physicians to diagnose and treat patients. After completing the course and passing the ASCP national certification exam, you qualify for phlebotomy positions in hospitals, private physician offices, public health departments, clinics, or blood banks.
Students gain theoretical and practical skills and knowledge through class, lab, and clinical practice. Learn anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology, as well as how to establish a professional relationship with the patient, how to select and prepare the venipuncture site, collect specimens, prepare and maintain equipment, about donor patients, and the health, and safety and legal aspects of the occupation.
