As a certified nurse aide, you can expand your skills with training needed to transition to a hospital setting. Gain an introduction to hospital equipment and supplies, as well as advanced skills in areas including: 12 lead EKG, basic phlebotomy, performing urinary catheterization, infection control, glucometer use, sterile technique, specimen collection and handling, measuring output of bodily fluids including chest tubes and surgical site drains, tracheotomy and supplemental oxygen care, and BLS certification and training.
Certification: To receive certification and BLS card, you must receive a passing grade on the PCT final examination and demonstrate using equipment and supplies correctly in patient care procedures. Strict attendance is required and first day of orientation is mandatory.
