As a certified nurse aide (CNA), you perform tasks under the supervision of qualified nursing and medical staff. Monitor and record vital signs and perform personal care skills, including bathing, dressing, toileting, assisting with meals, transfers and ambulation, linen changes and room organization, and safety issues following facility policies and procedures.

This program includes 121.25 total hours of comprehensive training, including 80 hours of classroom instruction, followed immediately by 41.25 hours of clinical training. To pass, you must attain a grade of 80% on the final exam and demonstrate competency in five out of five randomly chosen skills during the lab practicum.

You must complete homework per the course schedule and demonstrate competency in all skills required to provide patient care using manual equipment to monitor vital signs as indicated in the SC Nurse Aide Handbook. You must attend the first day of class and the first day of clinical to be eligible to attend the remainder of the program.
