Pathopharmacology - Part I Coding

Learn the diseases of the human body and the medications used to treat them. This is a prerequisite course required to enter the Coding Specialist Part II program. This course is not Scholarship eligible.

Prerequisite:
  • Medical Terminology must be taken prior to taking this Pathopharmacology course. 
Students must have daily access to a computer with high-speed internet access, a webcam, and microphone, Microsoft Office Suite, or equivalent, Adobe Flash Player and Acrobat Reader. Using a phone or any mobile device to complete a course is not recommended or reliable.

Coding Specialist Part I consists of 3 prerequisite courses needed to enter Part II of the Coding Specialist program. All courses run consecutively in the schedule and must be taken in order as each course builds upon the next course, see below.

Coding Specialist Part I: medical terminology, pathopharmacology, healthcare data & EHR.
Coding Specialist Part II: health insurance, I-10 coding, CPT coding.
