Topics you explore include vein location and IV placement, equipment and supplies, insertion, anchoring techniques, and connecting to IV tubing. Perform lab skills on IV therapy mannequin arms. To successfully complete the course, you must demonstrate knowledge and competency in IV insertion skills using proper safety and infection control techniques.

  • An IV start packet (ZNUR 503 Kit) must be purchased from the bookstore in the 950 building. The cost of this packet is $42.86, in addition to the cost of the course.
